Cookbook Review - Cherry Bombe The Cookbook
Cherry Bombe The Cookbook by Kerry Diamon & Claudia Wu is a cookbook that celebrates women and food. The cookbook is an extension of Cherry Bombe magazine and is presented beautifully in many different ways.
I read cookbooks for the stories, the stories behind the recipes make me want to cook them. My wife looks at cookbooks for the pictures, she’ll rarely cook a recipe that doesn’t have a photo. This cookbook pleased both of us, it has a full page image and short blurb for each recipe. Cherry Bombe differs in that the recipes are each from a different chef so each contains information about the woman providing it and some insight into why they love the recipe.
Since the cookbook features many different chefs the recipes are quite diverse including lemongrass & ginger brined chicken from Jessica Koslow of Sqirl and Chocolate Persimmon Loaf Cake from Amy Guittard. The book does not require a large selection of hard to find ingredients which is a nice treat. For me the cookbook served more as an inspiration and has made me want to try some new flavor combinations and has
Overall this cookbook is very pleasing to look at and I would be very confident in gifting it to my close friends that are beginning their home cooking culinary journey. It will provide them with a diverse selection of elegant looking foods to prepare.
Also, the chocolate chip cookie on pg 170 looks so delicious.
I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
